The Great Gingerbread Competition!
Christmas of 2005 will always be remembered for the Gingerbread House building contest. Boys against girls, it was the battle to end all battles. The girls thought they had it in the bag...they were so organized and creative, but the boys had a secret weapon-power tools!

The gingerbread house belonging to the Boy's team was not only very unorthodox, but it was held together with hot glue!

The building was top secret with the boys in the kitchen and the girls in the front room.

For the finishing touches, Grandpa Jonesy pulled out his skill saw and his cordless drill.

The final product was unlike anything we had ever seen! It had 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, home theater, solar panels, carport and a Canadian flag. A masterpiece!!! The only drawback to this gingerbread house was the warning: DO NOT EAT!

The girl's house was much more traditional-and edible!
We all had a great time and according to the judge (Great Grandpa Jones) we were all winners!

Fun Christmas pictures and stories, Bek! Wish we could've been there, too. :)
Les.
Those are great stories....isn't that how it goes though, one side of the marriage tries to keep things organized and the other is always trying to branch out....
