Just for my records, we had a Dr. appt. on May 7th...Maura's stats are:

Height: 32 3/4 in....80%
Weight: 23lbs. 11 oz....40% (This I cannot believe, have you seen her chunky thighs???)
Head circumference 18 1/2 in......60%

Seriously, sleeping should be a competitive sport... This was yesterday's position.


Hee hee hee, ha ha ha, ho!

I think I need to re-title Memorial day as 'Project Day'. It seems every year we do some kind of project this weekend. This was no exception. First we spent most of Saturday doing yard work. We mowed the lawn, fixed sprinklers, weeded the flower beds, planted some shrubs and bulbs, made a chalkboard and other things...it was very productive.

Sunday was full of church meetings, a great "what do you do on Sunday?" FHE with friends, and "Oklahoma" the musical-one of my favorites.

Monday we helped a friend paint, watched a movie then more around the house stuff and a pool party at our neighborhood municipal pool (otherwise known as the Houston's)

Dallin's bestest buddie, Jace.

They spent a long time doing tricks off the diving board....Adam tried to get them with cold water,

They did flips,

twists,

cannonballs,

and dives.



Maura loves the pool! I was a little nervous as she hasn't shown much affinity for the splash park or the shower, but the pool was different.





She really enjoyed herself!


We wore her out pretty good!

Now I just need to buy some chalk....

It happened again...I woke up one morning and had to paint something! I think I've repainted every room in my house except my bedroom, and I can't move the furniture all by myself, so I had to do something else. I'd been thinking about painting those old built in bookshelves in the family room, so that's what I did!

The 'hired help'. Actually, she brought kids to entertain Maura, lunch and drinks....I think she paid ME to come and paint! I couldn't have done it without her! Seriously, I couldn't have reached the top part without a ladder! Thanks Les, you rock!


After much debate about whether to just do two coats of paint or use a primer. We opted for a primer-then still had to do two coats AND polyurethane. WHEW!

Two days later, three trips to home depot, several caffeinated drinks, and a much needed chiropractic appointment, the book shelf is beautiful!

Now let's see if Adam even notices that I did something different. He's been away for this week while I've been doing the project. Any bets on how long it will take him to notice?? I'm betting at least 2 days (unless he reads the blog...).

It was a great beginning to our summer!

School is out for summer!

Yahoo! We hid behind our fence and waited for the kids in the neighborhood to walk by on their way home, then we shot them with silly string!

Yahooo! Three days and two nights of boys getting dirty in the woods!

Oh what fun!

They made rockets to shoot,



practiced target shooting with their guns,

ate lots of junk food,

slept little, played in the fire and generally had a terrific time.

One of the bottle rockets was filled with water. Very cool (and cold).


They both slept in the back of the truck and froze the first night. The second night they tried wearing all their clothes and snuggling in one sleeping bag. Dallin is more of a thrasher than a snuggler, so there was little sleeping going on.

After they got home and washed of the pound off dirt they were both wearing I asked if they had a good time. "Oh, yeah!" was the response. They can't wait until next year.

Maura and I hung around together at home, ran errands, cleaned the house, played with friends, I did some interpreting and we got pedicures. (Okay, I got the pedicure and Maura got a nap.) It was a good weekend! Can't wait until next year!
