What's good on television?

So lately I've found myself watching much more television than ever. Sadly, I've been spending a lot of time on my couch...yuck! But, I did find something worth watching this week! On PBS there is a special on "Mormons" check it out! It begins tonight, April 30th and runs through May 5th. Yahoo! A week's worth of interesting television!

Cousins are sooooo cool!

Dallin and Garrett have had such a great time with cousins! They have played computer games, gone to visit some exciting places, but mostly just hung out together. They are so good at using their imagination to play games and come up with ideas of what to do together.

The most recent adventure has been bug collecting. For some reason they are fascinated with finding, catching and caging bugs. I discovered this 'bug house' of theirs this morning and it made me run to the bathroom gagging (literally). What, do you say was in the jar? Flies of course, and dog poop for them to eat-(gag).

We survived the wedding and it was wonderful!! Don't they look happy??

The flowers were georgeous, the wedding and reception was super, I survived, and fun was had by all! I am so grateful for so many helpers!

Dad, Colleen and Lisa came early to help do so many things, David was so helpful making salads and watching kids, Gina, Jennifer and Anjulie (my cousin) tended to all the beautification of Kathleen and the details I just couldn't get to.

Leslie and Angie P. made great Rice Krispy treats and there were sooo many people who helped serve and clean; JoAnne, Kathy, Angie H., Becky R., Becky L., my beehive girls and sooo many others I forget who. I just can't thank you all enough.

We couldn't have done it without everyone!



A super thanks to my great brother-in-law who did the pictures...he did a phenomenal job! I'll keep posting them here and there so you get an idea-what a cute picture of my two nieces (Halle and Blythe).

Flowers and lights and ribbons...oh my!

"Oh my gosh, we've hired Fronk!!" When we saw them unloading all this stuff for the wedding that's all I could think about! You know, that funny movie with Steve Martin and Martin Short "Father of the Bride".

The decorating for Katie's wedding has begun! When she said she wanted to have the reception in the back yard I suggested having a decorator do it. We have a great team in our ward "The Dream Team" and boy do they do a good job! They began last night (got here about 7pm and kept at it until 10pm) and boy do they decorate!!!

I was completely shocked by the amount of stuff they brought! They pulled up to the house with a HUGE trailer and began to unload and unload and unload. The colors are GEORGEOUS! It is going to look amazing!



They asked if they could keep a 'few' things in our garage...


They will be back today to work more and then finish up on Friday-wow! What a big job!


I'm so glad we have "The Dream Team"! They will do a fabulous job and more importantly, I don't have to do it!!

It makes my heart glad...

when my boys show Christ-like characteristics. Saturday morning we went to the neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt and Breakfast. This is the second year we've done it and it's been a hit! The ward hosts it, but invites the entire neighborhood and there's a pretty good turn out although the title "hunt" is a misnomer. There are hundreds (thousands?) of eggs that they just spread over the ground in one area of the park then turn the kids loose. We also have a great pancake and egg breakfast that the bishopric always cooks (I think you have to be a good cook and own a portable griddle thingy to be called into the bishopric). It's a lot of fun.

Okay, so this is the cute part. They line the kids up to get the eggs and have the younger ones go first (to give them a fighting chance). Then they turn the rest of them loose and it is total mayhem. It's fun to watch the really young ones because they stop at the first egg, pick it up, then try to open it and eat the candy-got their prize, they are done! The older ones go for quantity-see how many they can fit in their baskets.

Well, before this started we talked to our boys about sharing and making sure everyone had lots of eggs. Dallin and Garrett are both to the quantity stage and want to get as many as possible.

As we were watching all the excitement I noticed Dallin run and pick up an egg just as a young girl (barely walking) was bending down to pick it up. He noticed that he grabbed it out of her reach and handed it to her. She then started to open it and eat the candy. I could see him talk to her then bend down and pick up other eggs and put them into HER basket. He then took her by the hand and led her to other eggs and added them to her basket. I have never been so proud of my son!

Then Garrett came to me with a basket full of eggs, he showed me how many he had then turned to his friend Mitchell who didn't have as many and started taking them out of his basket to put in Mitchell's.

WOW! Such good kids. I am so blessed! As a parent I wonder how much we try and teach them really sinks in. It's good to see that what we've tried to teach they have learned!

Happy Easter!

Traditionally, the "Easter Bunny" brings treats in baskets for the boys and hides chocolate eggs around the house. I don't think the boys buy the "Easter Bunny" thing, and that's okay with me. We've been trying to help them understand the real meaning of Easter. Adam took the boys to the Easter Pageant here at the Mesa Temple, and we've been talking about resurrection and why we celebrate Easter. We still enjoy chocolate treats, water balloons and coloring books!


Love their PJ's they chose themselves-Dallin is wearing a t-shirt that Adam had in Elementary school and Garrett is wearing a "Riding and Rafts" t-shirt from Grandpa Jonesey's stable. If they have a choice, they will always choose the t-shirts. Also love the morning hair!

My favorite candy at Easter time is the robin eggs. Dallin and Garrett like anything with sugar, although Garrett isn't very crazy about chocolate. Adam's favorite is the little milk chocolate eggs in the foil wrapper.

Those with weak stomachs avert your eyes...

After two days of being cooped up in the house watching General conference (which I LOVE, by the way) the boys needed a little time to burn off some energy. It started with me making paper boats for them to float in our little kiddie pool and this is how it ended...

We seem to be spending a lot of time in the mud lately...and it makes for a lot of cleaning up!

Meet Steve!

The carnival is finally over and we survived! It actually went very well and we had a great time! We had so many helpers! I have a super hubby who was so helpful and two crazy boys who loved it and a super sister and future brother-in-law who were there to clean up the mess afterwards and take care of my boys when I crashed! WOW! Glad that is over.

The boy's favorite part of the carnival was the fish they could win. I had to go get them from Wal-mart the day of the carnival and we discovered that the capacity for my mini-van is exactly 200 fish! It was squishy! We delivered them to the carnival and the fish were a hit.

Sadly, (from my boy's perspecitive) they did not win a fish. I was happy to escape without being the cause of death of a little fish until the next morning what should we find in our toy box but a fish in a bag!! One of the boys must have snuck one out of the car and put it in the toy box. They wanted to keep it, but we don't have the equipment...so we compromised. We gave the little gold fish to some friends and went to the store to buy a Beta. The boys are thrilled!


After they chose the fish they wanted, and a bowl to put him in along with food and water purifier stuff, Adam asked the boys what they wanted to name him (Adam's suggestion was Blue Lightening), Dallin, without missing a beat, said "Steve".


When they got him home and arranged Dallin showed him off to me. As I admired him I asked "Why did you name him Steve?". Dallin's reply, "Mom, all fish gotta' have a name, his is Steve." Oh, silly me-Steve it is.
