3-D TV

The newest fad at our house is 3-D movies! Shark Boy and Lava Girl is one of the favorites along with Spy Kids.


They were just so cute I couldn't pass it up!


I'm now working with the Beehives in our Young Women organization-they came over to learn to decorate cakes and have a celebration for one of the girls' birthday. The boys were sooooo excited to have so many 'friends' come to play!

Welcome to the island of Makutu!

We had a terrific time at Makutu's Island with Dallin, Garret and several of his good friends! They played long and hard and after two hours still wanted more! Garrett was the bravest of them all! Dark tunnels, twisty slides, tight spaces, spooky lights, nothing could deter this little explorer! He was always the first one up the ladder and the first one down the slides. We had to drag him away kicking and screaming!


This is called the Pirate's cove, there is a real running waterfall and a tank full of fish to watch. You can crawl through tunnels behind the waterfall and walk across the catwalk over it!


The Big Banana Tree is the main attraction with tunnels, slides, catwalks, and poles to slide down. It's a terrific place for kids-and adults too! Every time we go my knees hurt from crawling through all the tunnels. I always think that next time I'll bring my old volleyball knee-pads, but I never remember to do that!

Rain drops keep fallin' on my head...

We love the rain here in Arizona! We get it so rarely, when we do it is a special treat. Today is great! It's been stormy for the last two days with scattered showers off and on. Dallin got to bring an umbrella to school today-very cool- and Garrett and I are watching the rain from the safety of our front room.

Garrett is in an "I hate" phase. I'm not sure he understands what it means to say he hates something because he says he hates so many things! Today it's "I hate mud" and "I hate lightended (lightening)", but he loves to go out and play in it!

Mother Nature's Farm

Garrett's preschool class visited Mother Nature's farm and their pumpkin festival for a field-trip this week! Garrett wanted to bring home a baby chick...no thanks!


We saw giant pumpkins that weighed more than 140 lbs!


Garrett wants to be a pumpkin farmer!


Not very happy on the hay ride as he wasn't feeling very good. I think he's got what Dallin had.


Look how big he is getting!

Each child chose a pumpkin to decorate...Garrett chose one that was sooooo tiny! He didn't want a big one! While I was helping another girl decorate her pumpkin Garrett took a sharpie and wrote all over my behind! The little turkey! He thought it was sooo funny!

Happy Birthday Dallin!

It's amazing the recovery of a six-year-old when you say "Today is your Birthday! Do you feel good enough to go to school?" He lept out of bed and was dressed in record time! He actually slept well and is not running a fever any longer. His rash looks terrible (hence the long pants on a 100 degree day) but otherwise he is doing well. We took popsicles to school for a treat and on Saturday we are going to Makutu's Island for a fun day with friends!

Today is Picture day...

Poor Dallin has missed the last two days, he's had a fever and just today a terrible rash! He hasn't felt like doing much, but is completelytired of staying home! The rash looks scary, but according to the doctor, harmless. It's on his legs, under his arms, his elbows, the palms of his hands, his ankles...everywhere! Even a few little bumps on his lips and sores on his tongue!



We took him to our great doctor this morning who did a Strep test and found it negative-he just has a virus. Not much we can do but keep giving him Benadryl that puts him to sleep. Poor guy! Tomorrow is his birthday and we were going to bring treats to his classroom! We'll have to wait until he feels better.
