Trouble X Two!

We had some kids over the other night while their parents went to a class and they played and played. They were so good entertaining each other I went into my room to fold the mountain of laundry that was on my bed. Little Bo came running in a few minutes later and yelled; "Bekki, Bekki the babies are in trouble!" and this is what I found...



They ARE trouble, that's for sure!

We have family that live in Canada. We all have passports except Maura. I've been putting it off for a long time but really need to get it done. Today I sat down with the paper work and decided to get it done. Mostly it's just collecting the proper forms and then taking the picture.

Now I know why I've been avoiding this! Have YOU ever tried to get a picture of a two-year-old that is acceptable?!? I think it's impossible. I know there are places that do passport photos, but I don't think they will have more luck at getting what they need than I will...

This was the first attempt.









She DID have a cute clip in her hair at one point...







Then I tried: "If you sit still I'll give you a candy" and that led to excitement over having candy... I shouldn't have said the 'c' word. So I gave her something hoping that she would put it in her mouth and I would have better luck...

She looks like a serial killer...a two-year-old serial killer.
I think I'm gunna have to try again later after she's had a nap...

Adam's choice for Halloween costume really doesn't count because it's his secret identity (shhh, don't tell anyone).



Seriously, he has this freakish ability to heal quickly. It's pretty amazing that a bruise or cut that would last a couple weeks on me is gone in a day or two for him. And that hair...it's real, and the motorcycle jacket, and dog tags and...(I could go on).

Hugh Jackman got the eyebrow thing from Adam.


Fierce, very fierce. This is the look I get when I've done something he doesn't approve of...

This was last year's costume.


I liked last year's look. I just think this year is much sexier.

I tried to get him to pose naked, like in the movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but he just wouldn't do it. Bummer.

Little M gets no choice in the costume department. I found a cute one and put it on her. I found....a chicken! Very appropriate I think given the obsession with eggs.

It took me about 30 minutes to get a good picture of her. She's decided she doesn't like getting her picture taken and will turn away when I get the camera out.

For this one she actually hid from me! It was cute for a while. She would giggle and hide her face then run around a pole and hide from me.

He wanted to be a zombie and dressed up for his group piano lesson party this week. The blood was his favorite part.

He did a good evil face to go with it.

The Grim Reaper. Ugh, scary I know!


He's been practicing the scary glare for a week now getting ready for the big night.


*Sigh* when did he outgrow super heroes? It went way too fast.

Mookster Chronicles

Have you ever seen anything as cute as this? Seriously, anything?


I would say not. They are best buddies and worst enemies. The closest thing to a sister Maura has.


Her newest trick, climbing on counters and making international calls. Really, she's ahead of her time (or at least ahead of her mommy).

Yeah, caught ya.

I'm usually the photographer and not in pictures. I love it when I am in the pictures with my kids. I wish I had more pictures of me with my mom.

The monster will be TWO in November....really, can't imagine that.

Wildlife World Zoo

I've lived in the Phoenix area for many years and had yet to venture out west to the Wildlife World Zoo until a couple of days ago. Dallin's best friend has been in town so we decided we should check it out. It's smaller than the Phoenix Zoo, but I like it better! The animals are closer, you don't have to walk as far, there is a great aquarium and a lot of hands-on feeding. It was super fun to be able to get close to the animals and it was just the right size to be able to see everything in one day.



One of my favorite things about this zoo is that you can get super close to the animals. Maybe it's not such a good idea to get too close to a porcupine...

The giraffe on the other hand was fun to get close to.

It was one of my favorite things to feed. I love giraffes. They are so gentle and friendly and beautiful. These were social and loved getting treats.

It was better to just drop the food on the tongue, if you let the giraffe take it from you it was really slimy and gross.

Maura loved it and Dallin did too.

We also got to feed the birds.

We were given pieces of apples to hold in our hands and let the birds come to us. Maura wasn't very patient.

We were warned to not try and catch them or pet them or they would bite. Maura is not very good at listening to instructions and got nipped. She learned her lesson.

Dallin was very excited to have a bird come to him and sit on his arm for a long time.


The area where you could pet goats, deer and llamas was another favorite.


Maura shared a drink with a goat.


The little ones were especially cute.


She was so soft and gentle with the animals. I was impressed.

It was a really great day that started out a little rocky...

You'll notice Maura's cute outfit. I guess she's prone to car sickness. She puked when we were almost there, luckily it was near a Wal-mart and we quickly exited and I ran in and cleaned her up and bought her some clothes to wear. This is the second time in our friends car on the way to the zoo that it has happened! I doubt we'll be invited to go to the zoo again soon! ;0)

Weekend with my sisters.

We've talked about doing it for years and FINALLY we made it happen! It was a great weekend to ditch the kiddos and hubbies and do a girlie trip. We all met in SLC, stayed at the Marriott downtown and shopped, ate and talked all weekend....it was awesome!

We visited a cute little place called Gardner's Village. A fun little place made from historic homes with little shops in them.





Sunday morning we saw the "Music and the Spoken Word" then took the micro tour of the Conference center. Very cool.








We went to a movie (very bad choice), saw a play (awesome choice), shopped a bunch and really had a good time. One of my favorite things about the weekend was the rule we made; No chain restaurants or fast food. It made for some interesting detours.

It was a super good time with these awesome girls I'm lucky enough to call my sisters!


On a side note it was awesome of our husbands (and friends) to tend the kids and give us a chance to get together. Thanks Adam, Kelly, Kyle and Kevin!

Side note...I'm still playing with my camera and it just never turns out right. I keep getting blurry pictures or dark pictures. *sigh* I guess I should read the instruction manual...
