Thanks aunt Joy!

Aunt Joy sent me this book after our visit to Canada earlier this year. She guaranteed I would like it-and I do! It was such a cute book to read. Thanks!
I like to read just about anything! I'm constantly in search of good books to read. I joined a small book club in my ward that reads a book each month, but it's just not enough. I found a list online of the classic books students should read before college-many of which I have already finished and others I don't care to read (I can't imagine reading another book by Herman Melville-UGH! I didn't enjoy Moby Dick.) So I'm still working on that list, but always in search of other good reads.
I particularly like books for pre-teens. I have since my college days. I imagine Dallin reading them one day and enjoying them.
Some favorite young adult books:
My Side of the Mountain
Black Stallion
Number the Stars
The Giver
Julie of the Wolves
Night Swimmers
I LOVE children's literature! It's so colorful and interesting and I love sharing it with my kids. Some of my favorites are:
A Porcupine Named Fluffy
How Much is a Million
If you Give a Mouse a Cookie
Chicka Chicka Boom Boom
Hand, Hand, Fingers Thumb
Eating the Alphabet
Favorite authors for children's literature:
Mercer Mayer
Shel Silverstein
Dr. Seuss
Eric Carle
Reading for fun, one of my favorite authors is Orson Scott Card-he's such a diverse writer, from science fiction to fantasy to historical novels. Some of his books I like to read are:
Ender's game
Ender's Shadow
Sarah
Rebekah
Enchantment
I LOVE to read! I'm looking for other good books...any suggestions?

My favorite book but not preteen, "Gift from the Sea" Anne Morrow Lindbergh
and "Plain and Simple" don't remember the author. A women going and living with two amish families and the lessons she learned. Preteen "Call of the Wild", and "White Fang". "A Woman of Means" novel is good. A girl growing up with money at the turn of the 19th century. Happy reading!!! :D See ya soon!
Try Tamora Pierce. She is an author I just found in the youth section in the library. So far I am eating up her first series.
One of my favorites is "The Forgotten Door" by Alexander Key. You would really like it Bekki. Also, I'm not the biggest Melville fan (He just drags on and on doesn't he?), but I did really like "Billy Budd".
