Feeding the Giraffe

One of the favorite activities at the zoo was feeding the giraffes. I was surprised with the freedom the zoo rangers allowed us. We walked onto a deck that was jutting into the giraffe pen and the giraffes came up on three sides of us and leaned over to touch us with their noses looking for treats. Much like granpa Jonesey's horses do, Dallin said. We stood there for a few min. giving them treats and touching their noses then we went on to see other animals.

Giraffes are so pretty-I guess I had never been so close to see their long eyelashes and big eyes. Their noses are very soft and they seem so gentle! Garrett thought the tongue was gross-very long and it touched his hand.

Just on the outside of the Zoo was a little train that would take you on a ride around the park. The boys thought it was fun-I don't think it was worth my $2, but hey, you only live once!

Cute train and cute boys.

After riding the train we played in the park for a while then went to the Tucson Children's museum.

WOW! I can't believe they let you guys get that close! The Phoenix Zoo would never do that!
