First day of Preschool

Here it comes! Garrett was sooo excited to ride the bus to school today. He is in a community education program at Mesa Public Schools that offers speech services once a week (we had his speech tested-long story, and he qualifies for the preschool program). It isn't our neighborhood school, but HE GETS TO RIDE THE BUS!

His bus driver Sherri was very nice and helpful. Garrett jumped right up the steps, chose his seat and waved happily from the window.

Let's just not tell Garrett that he rides the SHORT bus to school-hee hee!

His classes are from 9-10:30 M,T, TH, F. His teacher is Mrs. Bradley (and an aid) and he has about 12 kids in his class. He seemed to enjoy his first day, but the bus thing was a BIG DEAL.

So, this community education thing is a preschool that parents can pay to enroll their students in, but my aunt Jan (a teacher for MPS) suggested we get Garrett's speech tested and if he qualified, then he could get preschool and speech services for free. After a LOOOONNNNG screening, then a much better evaluation by a speech pathologist, it seems he is a smart little cracker that just can't say some words. He barely qualified (his speech was almost too good) but they had room and took him. So, now he rides the bus to school, I don't pay for preschool and everyone is happy (except Dallin, he wants to ride the bus too).

What a cute little devil! My kids are sad too about not riding the bus. That is awesome that you don't have to pay and have even more time off as a mom. SWEET!

Wow Bekki, he is so little compared to that great big yellow bus. I know that program is great. They follow them through grade school don't they?
Funny how the bus thing wears off the older they get. Enjoy your time! :D
