Nothing to blog about...
That's what I told Adam this evening, and he said: "Just blog about our day today."
Well, okay.
Katie came to visit today! She brought her silly dog Oliver. He looks like Parker's younger brother. They get along famously. It was fun to hang with Katie. Dallin LOVES it when she (and Kevin) come and Maura is learning who she is.
Katie came with us to our Ward Service Activity where we colored quilt squares, tied the ends of fleece blankets, cleaned nursery toys, brought food to donate to food shelters, ironed and sewed quilts together. It was a great ward activity! It was a come and go activity between 8 am and 12 noon. Katie, Maura and I went and left Adam to finish mowing the lawn while Dallin slept in. (We've had late nights and busy days and he's been so tired we thought he needed it.) They were suppose to join us, but by 10:30 we were done and they hadn't shown up. We headed home only to find Dallin finally eating breakfast! He really needed the sleep!
Then we decided we were going to go to the movies! Katie and I went and saw a chick flick (really not worth mentioning, but it was fun to sit with her and chat and laugh together), then Adam and Dallin went to see the 3-D version of "Up". We all had a good time.
Then home to grab some dinner and off to Ellen's (my aunt) house! We picked up some yummy Sonic ice cream on the way and had fun playing with her little rat and throwing stuff at each other. Maura warmed up to her and showed off a little of her personality. We then went into the garage to choose a few treasures from the things cleaned out of Grandma and Grandpa Jones' house.
One of the things I treasure are the wind chimes grandpa made. When we lived in their house (while they were one one of their missions) we loved listening to the wind chimes and watching humming birds build nests in the chimes. (Side note: Garrett always called them Honey Birds-love that!) While we were going through some stuff Adam and Dallin were playing ball in the street and Maura was picking up rocks and playing with a little plastic wheelbarrow. They all had naked feet and got soooo dirty!
While we were talking, Ellen stopped me and told me how much I look like my mom. I've been told that before but no one has been as specific as she was. She said I have my mother's hands (I know that) and that the way I talk, the gestures I use and things I say are just like my mom. Cool!
After hugs and kisses we headed home to unload our treasures, clean up the kids and throw them in bed (we can't just gently place them there, we have to throw them). Katie headed home. Adam ran out to get some milk so he can eat some banana-oatmeal-choco chip cookies.
Now the house is quiet and I will get some alone time with my honey! (Yahoo! NMN!!)
It was a good day.

What a great day! I love blogging every day stuff. I think we will look back in our books years from now and be glad for all the detail. I hope you have a summer full of fun days like that!
Nothing to blog about...usually makes some of the best blogs!
That was a busy day, even with "nothing" much going on. I loved your grandparents' windchimes, too.
I'm almost as glad as Adam to still see the NMN has not gone away. To NMN!
