Help!

What kind of camera do you use?

Do you like it?

What things do you like, and what don't you like?

What kinds of pictures do you mostly take (indoor, outdoor, sports, portraits, etc.)

What do you use your pictures for (prints, enlargements, blog, etc.)

I'm in the market for a camera and can't decide what I want. I want more than a point-and-shoot, but not sure if I'm really ready to lug around an $800 SLR. I think I want something middle of the road...something where I can control aperture and shutter speed, but also turn on the auto function. Most importantly, I want something that I can get out quickly and takes a quick picture so I don't miss those "Maura Moments".

Soooo, oh wise blog stalkers, help me out!!

I like my little waterproof/shock proof olympus but I have to say that it does not take the best portraits... but I am one of those people that if it doesn't fit in my pocket I always come up with a reason not to bring it.... so I guess I have decided it is better to have more pictures of lower quality and just beg my friends with their nice cameras to take pictures of us when I really care.

Sorry, but I have both. I keep the Cannon Power Shot in my purse to catch all the things my kids do. I love it because I can even fit it into my pocket, but it'll do fun things and take pretty good pictures. If I want say, good back-to-school shots, though, I use my Cannon Rebel. It does some really fantastic things that my other won't do. There's no delay and I have gotten some really amazing stuff with it. I know this didn't help since you were trying to decide.
