We camped about 20 miles outside of Payson. Dallin learned some valuable scouting skills like starting a fire, how to use a compass, how to build a shelter, gather firewood, and what to do if you get lost in the wilderness (he didn't get lost, we just talked about it a lot).
His fire building skills came in handy in the mornings when it was cold and we didn't want to get out of our sleeping bags, we just sent him out and told him to build a fire...and he did! What a good scout!
S'mores were on the menu of course. Hey, Adam, you've got something...never mind.
Maura wanted hers uncooked and separate.
Dallin burned his marshmallows...twice!
Dallin learned some handgun skills,
and did a little hiking.
We had some light rain and it even snowed on us! We were driven to all kinds of interesting ways to keep warm! Luckily, we brought some hand-warmers and put them in everyone's socks and pockets at night and it kept us nice and toasty.
We all climbed a mountain and sat on the rocks at the top and enjoyed the view.
We explored all kinds of places,
Adam's sneezes took out a few trees...
overall, it was really a great time.
Adam says we should do it every weekend....hmmm, maybe!
