Independence Day!
We celebrated the 4th of July with parades (two of them) a trip to the Star Valley cheese factory for great burgers and then the Ranch Rodeo. Here she is, the reason we have gone to 4 parades so far this year-Lincoln County Jr. Rodeo Princess (and her trusty steed, Lady).
She was in heaven! Her dream come true-and she did a terrific job! She didn't look nervous at all and seemed to be the most at ease of all the Rodeo Royalty!
We lined the streets with cameras, blankets and kids to get candy and cheer on Rae!
Puttin' on our cowboy duds for the rodeo! We had a super time.
Maura even "cowboyed up".
The Ranch Rodeo was fun, but different from any other rodeo I've been to. Mostly it had events of which you might find on a working ranch. Calf roping, wild cow milking, a pack horse race, and the little kids chased calves and if they got the ribbon off the tail they won a prize. There wasn't the normal bronc riding and bull riding, but it was still pretty fun to watch.
