Meet....Ginger!

Yes, we have a new member of our family. Last night we went to visit my Aunt Ellen. Dallin looooves playing all of her fun games and giving her pet rat treats. Little did we know that not only did she have two new rats, but a gerbil as well. She ended up taking a gerbil as a favor when she got her rats and wasn't really attached.

While playing with her, Dallin really was gentle and soft and Ellen offered to let her come home with us....sooo, she did.


Ellen sent food, bedding, the cage (with an extra cage to put her in when we need to clean the big one), and even lettuce home with us! WOW!

Dallin was so excited to arrange things just right when we got home. He spent the next two hours watching her and planning what to do with her and making sure she got settled.

Today we spent time playing with her and creating a maze for her to run through.


Dallin has been super responsible about it all planning how he is going to feed her and take care of her. I'm sure a little of the novelty will wear off soon, but I'm hopeful that this will be a good experience for him!
