My New Camera

I did it! I finally made a decision! I got a serious camera. Probably more of a camera than I will ever use, but I've really liked it so far and have grabbed it at every opportunity. I'm trying to figure out how to take good pictures (with the correct settings) in a variety of situations. My biggest challenge so far is in my house. I have terrible lighting.

I have resorted to making my subjects move to where the light comes in the back windows of our big play room. There is plenty of light, but sometimes I get odd shadows.

(This was such a sweet birthday gift for Maura! It was EXACTLY what she wanted, fancy dress up shoes.)

We even had to paint her toes so they would look nice in the fancy shoes.

Now the problem is getting her to wear anything else.

I tried some late afternoon shots of my favorite people at the park one evening as we were feeding the ducks. What a handsome guy (doing his GQ pose).

Many of them turned out blurry. I needed more light for the action shots to work (lesson learned).

I got a great picture of Adam's late night snack with slushy milk. Check out the depth of field...very fun thing to figure out.

The one problem I am encountering is the sheer numbers of pictures I am taking. Granted, they are not all keepers, but in one afternoon I took about 300....that's going to fill up my hard drive pretty quickly! I am going to have to figure out a system....

How can I NOT take so many pictures when I have such a fun models?

I think Dallin's choice is tart peach. (He seriously needs a haircut. Where is this kid's mom?)

She LOOOVES ice cream as only a Jones could appreciate.

Another (brief) attempt at getting a passport photo...I'm going to have to get serious about it soon.

More action shots. This time with better light and very willing subjects.

Recycle wars...that's what this is called.

Where did the violent streak come from?!? Some days he just has more energy than he knows what to do with.

I guess this is a good outlet.

I love my camera. Now only 285 more to upload...
