Spring Break 2010-a STAYcation
We just got back from a cruise and hadn't yet planned on any big trips for spring break, so when a friend said she was going to have a STAYcation we hopped right on the band wagon!
This week has been full of fun little things in our neighborhood or in town. That means we have been sleeping in our own beds and even getting daily naps-perfect!
Day one:
Bread making party at Rachel's house, ice skating/petting zoo
Bread making party at Rachel's house, ice skating/petting zoo
Rachel invited everyone to her house on day one to learn how to make yummy whole wheat bread. Kids played in the backyard and the adults mixed and visited. It was really fun and the end product was delicious!
Then home for the little kids to take a nap while the bigger kids went ice skating. I swapped Dallin for Sophia. Dallin went ice skating and Sophia and some other friends came with us to Marley Farms.
Say "Cheese" didn't work very well...
"Stick out your tongue" worked much better.
Maura loves any kind of animal-this cute little petting zoo was right up her alley. Marley Farms adopts rescue animals, has horse boarding, training, arenas, etc. It's not too far away, very kid friendly and a perfect little trip.
You could feed the animals with little sand shovels that were conveniently tied to the fence. It was a great way for little fingers to stay out of big mouths.
Big mouths didn't scare Maura very much.
Look at those huge feet!
Nice llama...
It was a warm spring day (in the 80's already) and the flowers were blooming and so pretty!
It was a great little trip! We will have to go visit again!
The first day ended at Mesa Frozen Yogurt where we bumped into several friends (we always seem to do that at Mae-Fro-Yo!).
A great start to our STAYcation.
