Saguaro (suh-wah-roe) Lake
Just in case you're not from Arizona and have no idea how to pronounce the name of the lake....
It's September and still 110 degrees. The best place to be on that kind of Saturday is NOT mowing the lawn or weeding the garden or washing the dog, it's slathering yourself and your kids with sun-block and heading to the lake!
Some friends in our ward with a fancy boat invited us to join them in the lotion slathering. Happily we ignored the chores around our house, packed a lunch and loaded the boat. I counted 6 adults and 10 children (3 of which were under the age of 1) on the boat with us.
They shared their life-jackets, drinks, and fun water equipment. It was so much better than mowing the lawn! This was the view I most often saw-the kids watching and waiting until we stopped so they could jump in the water and cool off.
Adam had a chance to try and wake board.
He did a great job...
The splashes were spectacular! (Did I mention he ran 6 miles before we went to the lake? Poor tired legs do not take well to wake boarding.)
Dallin and I learned to knee board!
He tried to knock me off my board several times...or was that me trying to knock him off? ha ha ho ho hee hee
Dallin never did fall off. His arms finally go tired and he let go of the rope and floated to a stop! Amazing! He said it was his favorite part and wanted to do it again and again...maybe we'll have to buy a boat.
We took a break for lunch and after eating we swam around the boat to cool off. Nope, we didn't wait the required 30 minutes after eating...our moms would have been upset.
Then out came the tubes and ropes and all the kids piled in. How many kids can you fit into 3 tubes? Fourty-eleven, as my dad would say.

Well, we really just joined them, until their little heads got bonked on our heads and we started to go too fast...so they wanted back in the boat.
The red-headed Canadian avoided the sun as much as possible.
And Mookie caught 20 winks.
We're all sore and a little pink this morning, but what a blast we had with our friends at that lake with the funny name!

Awesome pictures, it looks like a lot of fun! I love the lake. It's always a good time, even better when no one ends up hurt too!
That looks totally fun!! Good for you. Great family outing.
